The Artist

Albert C. Lindhorst, Sr. “Al” was recognized as the foremost Architectural Illustrator in the Maryland area. He is a native Marylander, and graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, and the Maryland Institute College of Art. He served in the U.S. Army in the Occupational Forces in Japan. Al started his art career at the Baltimore Sun and Speed-Age Magazine. He worked as a freelance artist for 4-A Studios in Baltimore, and it was there that he began his career in Architectural Illustration. Al worked for architectural and engineering firms in the Baltimore/Washington corridor and the mid-Atlantic areas. Al Lindhorst was known for his exact perspective and attention to details. The detail in his work is evident by the memorial on the facade of the Baltimore Memorial Stadium painting. The memorial was painted precisely with brush and can be read. He produced architectural renderings for corporations (i.e.,) Black & Decker, McCormick & Co., Marriott Corporation and the Army Corps of Engineers to name a few. His work encompassed renderings of buildings that were local, national and international. He has fond memories of Baltimore Memorial Stadium. He was privileged to attend many Baltimore Orioles games, and was a long time season ticket holder for the Baltimore Colts and an avid follower of the Baltimore Ravens.
